Story Behind Suubi
Launched in 2007, the SUUBI (hope) project made its entrance into the city of Jinja, Uganda and eventually into the hearts and homes of many African women, their families, and thousands of others across the world. What seemed like merely a response to talent and need, quickly grew into a community based organization filled with beautiful women- each with a story to tell and talent to express. Over the years, the number involved with SUUBI has grown continually in women, creativity, and in lives shared.
SUUBI creates beautiful products out of up-cycled paper beads and through the sale offers consistent incomes where there once was none.
Product Design & Packaging
Each and every SUUBI product comes packaged in a beautiful box or bag that tells the story of a woman in Suubi. Stories and connection are at the core of who we are, and we want everything that we send to you, including our packaging, to remind you that each product you purchase is made by a precious and beautiful woman with value and dignity.
All of our necklaces are packaged with care the day that you place your order. Necklaces are placed in boxes with an image and description of one of our incredible employees, and bracelets and earrings are packaged in bags that are stamped with our official seal.
"Since I am in SUUBI, I know I can raise enough money to support my family and I have hope" ~Beatrice Adong
"I hope my dreams of buying a house will quickly become a reality" ~Florence Ochida
